To convert kibibytes to bytes, enter the value in the first field. The result in bytes is calculated automatically using the exact conversion factor.

1 KiB = 1024 B
1 B = 0.0009765625 KiB

Formula: B = KiB × 1024
KiB = B × 0.0009765625

Definitions: 1 KiB = 1024 B

The kibibyte (KiB) is 1,024 bytes. The binary prefixes kibi, mebi and gibi were introduced by the IEC in the late 1990s to tell powers of 1,024 apart from powers of 1,000.

The byte (B) is 8 bits and is the basic unit for storing text and other data; one ASCII character takes one byte. Note the capital letter: B is bytes, while a lowercase b stands for bits.
